Jeonnam Fire Department Works Hard to Improve Disaster Response Capabilities by Situation
Emergency Rescue Control Team Unscheduled Activation Drill Conducted
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) is working hard to improve response capabilities for various disaster situations.
On the 29th, Jeonnam Fire announced that it conducted an unannounced activation drill of the Emergency Rescue Control Team at the Gawudo Suspension Bridge in Gangjin-gun to enhance response capabilities for different disaster scenarios.
The Emergency Rescue Control Team drill simulates actual disaster situations, overseeing and controlling emergency and rescue activities carried out by emergency rescue agencies and support organizations.
The drill assumed a disaster occurring amid a large crowd of visitors and assigned situation-specific messages applicable on-site to secure a rapid response system tailored to the disaster situation.
The training focused on activating the Emergency Rescue Control Team, establishing an integrated command system at the disaster site, cultivating the ability to operate the on-site command bus, and mastering the mass casualty management system.
In particular, after setting up the control team on-site, the drill included disaster situation assessment meetings, disaster situation report preparation, and press briefings. After the drill, participants discussed shortcomings and areas for improvement to establish a robust disaster response system.
