On the 27th, the agency announced on the 28th that it held the 'Export SME Field Difficulty Listening Meeting' at the conference room of Shinhan Ceramic Co., Ltd. in Siheung City to gather opinions on the difficulties companies face on-site and various support policies amid the triple crisis of high prices, high interest rates, and high exchange rates, which are intensifying challenges in the export industry, and to devise measures to revitalize exports.
Kang Seong-cheon, head of the agency, explained, "Currently, the global economy is facing complex global indicators due to the prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict, global inflation, and China's economic slowdown, making it difficult to improve export conditions for our companies immediately. We organized this meeting to listen to voices from the field so that practical support policies for export companies in the province can be prepared."
At the meeting, representatives of participating companies expressed difficulties such as ▲increased burden due to rising export logistics costs ▲challenges in market diversification and discovering buyers in advanced markets ▲limitations in participating in export support projects for traditional industry products like crafts ▲and complicated procedures for issuing business visas when inviting buyers.
They also requested the expansion and strengthening of the role of the GBC to support smooth overseas expansion of export companies in the province, as well as support for costs related to buyer discovery and verification, participation in overseas exhibitions, and overseas transportation and logistics expenses.
Director Kang emphasized, "We plan to carefully review the various opinions of export companies in the province discussed at this meeting and propose policy alternatives to the government and Gyeonggi-do. The agency will focus all its capabilities to proactively respond to the difficulties faced by export companies in the province."
