A Worker in His 40s Falls to Death at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Shipyard
Ministry of Employment and Labor to Apply Serious Accident Punishment Act
At around 11:25 PM on the 23rd, a man in his 40s working at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering shipyard in Geoje City fell and died.
According to the Geoje Police Station on the 24th, Mr. A was using a high-altitude work vehicle to perform shipbuilding tasks. While descending, the basket of the work vehicle he was on stopped moving. When he released the safety hook to check the condition, the basket suddenly moved, causing him to be thrown off and fall approximately 23 meters.
Mr. A sustained head injuries and was urgently transported to the hospital by the company's own ambulance but passed away.
At around 12:10 AM the next day, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, having received the accident report, assessed the basic situation on site and then left.

Later in the morning, they formed a team again to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident and whether there was any work-related negligence, planning to handle the case according to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
