7 Additional Stores to Open in Canada Within the Year
Goal of 1,000 North American Stores by 2030
SPC's Paris Baguette declared its full-scale entry by opening its first store in Toronto, one of Canada's two major cities, on the 22nd (local time). Canada is the 10th overseas country where Paris Baguette has opened a store.
Canada is the country with the second largest franchise industry after the United States. Following its entry into the UK last year, Paris Baguette plans to target both the North American and European markets by expanding into Canada this year.

Paris Baguette's first store in Canada, ‘Young & Sheppard Branch,’ is located on the first floor of the ‘Young Shopping Center’ on Young Street, the central commercial district of downtown Toronto, with an area of 214㎡ and 20 seats.
Located in a commercial area with high foot traffic due to major government offices and shopping malls, Paris Baguette applied a self-service system that allows customers to quickly select products. They offer differentiated products such as freshly baked bread, fresh salads, sandwiches, and strawberry fresh cream cakes, which are popular in the United States.
Since Canada reflects both the characteristics of the North American market and the Francophone cultural sphere, Paris Baguette expects fresh cream cakes (whole cakes) to gain great popularity. Sandwiches, salads, pastries, and other meal replacement products that pair well with coffee are also analyzed to be well-loved by locals.
Unlike previous overseas expansions where Paris Baguette opened directly operated stores first, the first store in Canada was launched as a franchise. Having accumulated know-how through long-term franchise operations in the United States and having established a local corporation since 2020 for thorough preparation, they decided to actively develop the franchise business from the beginning.
Paris Baguette plans to open seven additional stores locally in Canada by the end of this year and aims to open more than 1,000 stores across North America, including the United States and Canada, by 2030.
Last year, they consecutively opened two stores in the UK and three in France, and in January, they surpassed 100 franchise stores in the United States, actively expanding their business in the North American and European markets. Additionally, they are actively operating in Southeast Asian markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia, running over 450 global stores in 10 overseas countries.
