'Singing the 2030 World Expo' ... Busan City and the Pan-Citizen Hosting Committee Promote Education and Performance Program Season 2
Starting Every Wednesday at Yeonmi Elementary, Touring 6 Elementary Schools
A Great Gift for Future Generations, Expecting Interest and Support for Hosting the Expo
Busan City, the 2030 Busan World Expo Citizens' Committee (Executive Chair Park Eun-ha, hereinafter referred to as the Citizens' Committee), and the Busan Cultural Center (CEO Lee Jeong-pil) will present the educational performance program "Singing the 2030 Busan World Expo Season 2" starting from the 22nd.
This program is an educational performance aimed at current elementary school students who will be the main actors of Busan in 2030 when the registered and recognized World Expo is successfully hosted. It explains the meaning of the World Expo and the inventions exhibited by previous host countries, accompanied by related music.
Last year, the program was conducted for about 1,000 students at 10 schools in Busan, receiving great responses from the students, and it has been planned and is being carried out again this year.
The city and the Citizens' Committee selected six elementary schools through a public contest in February to conduct this program, and from the 22nd to April 26th, World Expo education will be provided to the future generation every Wednesday for a total of six sessions.
The six selected elementary schools are Yeonmi Elementary, Yeogo Elementary, Gupyeong Elementary, Baekyang Elementary, Hadan Elementary, and Dongil Jungang Elementary. The program will tour these schools starting from Yeonmi Elementary to Dongil Jungang Elementary.
This year’s program will also invite professional instructors to explain the World Expo in an easy-to-understand way tailored to elementary students’ perspectives. Participating students will also have a "Dance Time for Expo Support," where they dance along to the World Expo song with the city’s communication character, "Boogie."
Notably, this year, in addition to the Busan City Youth Symphony Orchestra, which performed last year, the Busan City Choir will also join the program to collectively convey the meaning and importance of the World Expo through music.
The Busan City Choir (conductor Lim Hee-jun) will newly arrange children’s songs related to exhibits introduced at the World Expo in an easy-to-understand way and will have a special time singing joyfully with participating elementary students to wish for the successful hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Park Eun-ha, Executive Chair of the Citizens' Committee, said, “Through ‘Singing the 2030 Busan World Expo,’ we expect that the future generation will easily and enjoyably learn the meaning and importance of hosting the World Expo, which will encourage elementary students to take an interest in and support the 2030 Busan World Expo bid.”
