LPGA Tour Q-Series Changes... '8 Rounds → 6 Rounds'
From November 30 to December 5
The U.S. Women's Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour Qualifying (Q) Series is changing.
On the 22nd (Korean time), the LPGA Tour announced, "The Q Series, which grants eligibility to participate in the regular tour, will be conducted over 6 rounds (108 holes)," adding, "The cut-off will be determined after 4 rounds." The Q Series had been a grueling 8 rounds and 144 holes from 2018 through last year. Before 2018, it was held over 5 rounds and 90 holes.
This year's LPGA Tour Q Series will be held from November 30 to December 5 at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Mobile, Alabama, USA. Tammy Tangtiphabundit, Senior Vice President of Operations, explained, "Based on player feedback and analysis of past LPGA Q Series results, it was determined that 6 rounds are appropriate."

The Q Series is the third and final stage of Q School, which determines advancement to the LPGA Tour and Epson (second-tier) Tour. After the Q Series ends, the top 20 players earn eligibility to participate in the LPGA Tour. Players ranked 21st to 45th receive conditional LPGA Tour status and eligibility to participate in the Epson Tour. Players who do not finish within the top 45 will compete on the Epson Tour.
