Homeplus Introduces 'Apple Pay' Payment Service
Mart? Mall? Express 'Apple Pay' Payment Available
At Homeplus, users of Apple devices such as the iPhone and Apple Watch can now make payments without a physical card.
On the 22nd, Homeplus announced that it has introduced the simple payment service ‘Apple Pay,’ which is available at its large marts, malls, and Express stores.
Homeplus equipped its stores with Near Field Communication (NFC) terminals and completed software updates in January to enable shopping via Apple Pay. They have conducted prior inspections to ensure customers experience no inconvenience and are currently operating the service.
According to a survey released by Korea Gallup in July last year, over half of people aged 18 to 29 use iPhones. Homeplus explained that Apple Pay was introduced to enhance shopping convenience for the 20s and 30s age groups, who have a high proportion of iPhone users.
