Drunk Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested in Gangnam During Rush Hour
A driver who was drinking in Gangnam, Seoul during rush hour and collided with a vehicle was arrested by the police.
On the 21st, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested Mr. A (49) the previous day on charges including hit-and-run injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of rear-ending a vehicle ahead of him in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu at around 5:45 PM the previous day and fleeing the scene. During the escape, he also collided with five moving vehicles and one parked vehicle. As a result of this accident, eight drivers of seven vehicles sustained minor injuries.
The police arrested Mr. A on the spot at around 6:30 PM the previous day. His blood alcohol concentration was 0.117%. The drug test result was negative.

A police official stated, "Mr. A testified that he was drinking with friends before driving," and added, "He will be summoned again for a detailed investigation of the accident circumstances."
