Training Professional Agricultural Managers through Theoretical and Field Education
Jinju City in Gyeongnam held the entrance ceremony for the ‘2023 Academic Year Farmers' University’ on the 20th at the City Hall Citizen Hall, with 136 new students attending, aimed at fostering professional agricultural managers to lead the development of Jinju agriculture.

View original imageFarmers' University, which provides over 100 hours annually of theoretical knowledge, technical skills, field education, and practical training by course to cultivate capable talents to lead agriculture, has trained more than 1,600 professional agricultural managers from its inception in 2009 through 2022.
This year, Jinju City’s Farmers' University operates four courses?facility strawberry, facility chili pepper, persimmon, and young farmers?from April to October. In particular, it offers practical theory and field education to promptly resolve farming questions and issues.

At the entrance ceremony, Mayor Jo Gyu-il said, “Despite economically challenging times, I encourage the passion and effort of the trainees gathered to complete the professional agricultural education course,” adding, “Based on the newly acquired knowledge and experience, I ask all new students to realize their dreams of becoming prosperous farmers and take the lead in the development of Jinju agriculture.”
