Material Technology and Operations Management Convergence
"Differentiation in Wastewater Operations Management"
Toray Advanced Materials, a global leader in water treatment membrane manufacturing technology, is acquiring Hanmi Entech, the industry's longest-standing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) specialist company for water treatment facilities.
On the 20th, Toray Advanced Materials announced that its president, Jeon Haesang, and Hanmi Entech chairman, Lim Donghyuk, attended the signing ceremony for the acquisition contract. The acquisition is expected to be completed within the first half of the year.
Through this acquisition, Toray Advanced Materials plans to combine its material technology with O&M to provide differentiated wastewater operation management services to customers. Toray Advanced Materials owns a variety of filter materials, including Korea's first developed reverse osmosis membranes, microfilters, ultrafiltration membranes, and nanofiltration membranes.
Hanmi Entech is a water treatment company specializing in the operation and management of wastewater treatment facilities nationwide, based on 46 years of accumulated know-how. It possesses the technical capabilities necessary for facility advancement and reuse of discharged water. In 2021, it was recognized for its outstanding water treatment facility operation capabilities by being selected as the best entrusted company by the Ministry of Environment.

Both companies plan to contribute to the efficient management of water resources in South Korea, a water-scarce country, by recycling discharged water for industrial and agricultural use and improving the quality of discharged water. In the future, they aim to improve the environment of water treatment plants by advancing wastewater treatment facilities based on membranes, which will help eliminate odors and expand green spaces above ground.
