Recruitment for Participants in the 'Traditional Coming-of-Age Ceremony' at Busan Women's Culture Center in Celebration of Coming-of-Age Day

Recruiting 18 males and females born in '04, free Hanbok provided, volunteer hours recognized
Busan Women's Culture Center will hold the "Traditional Coming-of-Age Ceremony" on May 15th at 2 PM in the main auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Women's Culture Center to celebrate the 51st Coming-of-Age Day, and will recruit participants from March 20th to April 7th.
The traditional coming-of-age ceremony commemorating Coming-of-Age Day is organized to congratulate young people who have just become adults for taking pride as adults and becoming respectable members of society, and to instill a healthy adult cultural spirit that enables them to fulfill their responsibilities and duties as adults.
The commemorative event will last for two hours and proceed in the order of ▲pre-ceremony events including wearing traditional hanbok and etiquette education and rehearsal ▲commemorative ceremony ▲coming-of-age ritual (re-enactment of traditional coming-of-age ceremony) ▲post-ceremony events.
Anyone born in 2004 who is coming of age can participate, and applications can be made by visiting the Women's Culture Center in person or by phone from March 20th to April 7th. A total of 18 participants (9 males and 9 females) will be selected, and participants will receive the hanbok worn during the coming-of-age ceremony free of charge and will also be credited with volunteer hours.
Kim Jeong-hee, director of the Busan Women's Culture Center, said, "We hope many citizens will take interest in this commemorative event that celebrates the future of the coming-of-age participants and reflects on the meaning of coming of age, and that it will serve as an opportunity to widely promote our traditional culture."
