Boseong-gun Strengthens Competitiveness in Promoting Rural Development Projects
7 Sectors, 41 Projects, 4.18 Billion Won Invested
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will actively promote rural development projects to strengthen local agricultural competitiveness and increase farmers' income.
The rural development projects promoted by Boseong-gun this time include a total of 41 projects in 7 areas: △ introduction of new income crops, △ smart agricultural technology, △ cultivation of crops responding to climate change, △ improvement of farm management, △ nurturing future agricultural workforce, and △ discovery of rural resources, with a total project cost of 4.18 billion KRW.
Boseong-gun recruited applicants from January 10 to February 28, and after document review and on-site surveys, selected 73 locations through the Agricultural Industry-Academic Cooperation Deliberation Committee on March 3.
Selected farms will start the projects after completing preliminary training on project implementation guidelines to ensure the successful promotion of pilot projects. Unapplied projects will be re-announced and project targets will be selected through a deliberation committee (document review).
A county official said, “We will disseminate and expand the rural development new technology distribution project on site to improve the productivity of high-quality agricultural and specialty products and increase the income of local farms, thereby enhancing regional agricultural competitiveness.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun is making efforts for efficient agriculture in response to climate change, including △ support for labor-saving control of rice pests and diseases through seedbed root irrigation treatment, △ pilot project for cultivating promising subtropical fruit orchards, and △ field distribution of new varieties of second-crop autumn potatoes.
