Titleist Launches Scotty Cameron 'Super Select Putter'
Expanded to 10 Lineup Items
Presented in Two Phases in March and May
Titleist announced on the 16th that it will expand the Scotty Cameron putter brand's 'Select Putter' lineup to a total of 10 models with the release of the 'Super Select Putter'.
The new products will be introduced in two phases due to the lineup expansion. First, six models including the Super Select Newport, Newport Plus, Newport 2, Newport 2 Plus, Newport 2.5 Plus, and Squareback 2 will be released. In May, four additional models?Super Select Fastback 1.5, Del Mar, New Goro 6, and Goro 6.5?are scheduled to be launched.
The new lineup includes an innovative head design called the 'Plus' model. It features a head size between the existing blade and squareback models. It is characterized by offering the forgiveness and stability of a mallet putter.
The face incorporates a newly developed 'Dual Milling' process. This combines the deep milling technique introduced in the 2018 'Select Putter' and the mid milling technique from the 2020 'Special Select Putter'. Titleist explained that this allows for enhanced feel and sound at impact, more delicate touch, and consistent ball contact.
Except for the Del Mar and Goro 6 models, all models feature the 'I-Beam Neck' style. The middle part of the neck is slightly trimmed on both sides, resembling the letter 'I',
resulting in a thinner center design. This reduces weight, which is then redistributed to the heel and toe of the putter head. It helps improve distance control to the hole, feel at impact, and provides a more stable balance.
Optimized weight distribution is also applied according to each model's head shape. Blade-type models like the Newport and Newport 2 use 303 stainless steel processed in the U.S. and tungsten weights. All Plus models, mid mallets, and Goro models feature 6061 aluminum sole plates. The Newport 2, Del Mar, and Goro 6.5 models are also available for left-handed golfers, with length options ranging from 33 to 35 inches to suit individual preferences.
