The GBCs are located in major global export hubs such as the United States, China, Russia, and India, providing one-stop export support services from overseas market research to buyer discovery and contract signing for companies.
Kang Seong-cheon, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, said in his opening remarks at the strategic meeting, "The export environment continues to deteriorate due to the global economic recession," and urged, "Please make efforts so that the GBC can provide practical support to lead the export expansion of small and medium venture companies in the province."
In response, Kim Deok-su, Director of the GBC Los Angeles office, stated, "It is important to note that Korea's exports to the U.S. are steadily increasing," and added, "The popularity of K-food and K-beauty is expected to continue for the time being. We will support the stable entry of local companies into the U.S. market by responding sensitively to local trends."
Woo Man-kwon, Director of the GBC Nairobi office, analyzed, "Kenya in Africa is one of the high-growth countries where the middle class increases by more than 10% annually," and said, "Demand for beauty products will greatly increase in the future, centered on young women with purchasing power who are following skin care trends. It is a time when local companies need to show interest in the African market and make proactive market entry efforts."
