Alleyway and Content Contest Held... Busan City Discovers Unique Alley Stories and Global Tourism Content
Discovering Busan's Unique Content Alleyways and Developing Sustainable Tourist Attractions
Establishing an Alleyway Council as an Anchor Institution for Local Content Planning and Operation and Conducting Public Competitions
Busan City, together with the Busan Tourism Organization (President Lee Jeong-sil), is hosting the ‘2023 Alleyway and Content Contest.’
Applications for the contest are open until April 7.
The ‘Alleyway Tourism Resource Development Project’ is a project that discovers stories of alleyways unique to Busan, characterized by culture, art, resources, and narratives, to create local content and develop them into tourist attractions. Following the discovery and support of ‘Mangmi Alley’ and ‘Jeonpo Tool Alley’ in 2021, the ‘Bongsan Village Masil-gil’ was discovered and supported in 2022.
This contest is to recruit participants for the ‘Alleyway Tourism Resource Development Project,’ where anchor institutions capable of planning and managing local content can form alleyway councils and apply for the contest.
The city plans to expand local participation centered on these councils to build a sustainable tourism ecosystem and enhance the self-sustainability of regional tourism.
In particular, this year, for the systematic and professional commercialization of alleyway content as tourism products, local tourism businesses must participate mandatorily when forming the councils.
Through this contest, the city will select one distinctive alleyway that can be utilized as a tourism resource and provide various supports such as local content program operation support, promotional marketing, and consulting.
Detailed information can be found on the Busan Tourism Organization website.
Son Tae-wook, Director of the City Tourism Promotion Division, stated, “We will strive to develop local content utilizing unique regional resources into global content enjoyed by people worldwide,” and added, “We ask for the interest and participation of local stakeholders to create innovative local content.”
