At this working council meeting, the city held in-depth discussions with the Police Agency, bus and taxi transport business associations, and automobile inspection and maintenance business associations to efficiently operate the ▲‘Onsite Monitoring Team’ and ▲‘Rapid Response Task Force’ to create a safe traffic environment.
First, participants exchanged opinions on the operation of the real-time ‘Onsite Monitoring Team’ composed of about 27,000 bus and taxi drivers.
The city instructed transport workers to immediately report to Busan City (Traffic Information Service Center Traffic Situation Room) upon discovering traffic facilities requiring maintenance during operation.
Additionally, the corporate taxi association proposed, as an idea, measures to secure the opposite lane in case of accidents on large bridges or overpasses to ensure smooth vehicle traffic during the inspection period, leading to various discussions.
During the onsite inspection period, focusing on the inspection team’s routes, detailed plans for operating the ‘Rapid Response Task Force’ were discussed in collaboration with the automobile inspection and maintenance association, consisting of 271 maintenance companies across 12 districts, to prevent secondary accidents and support smooth traffic flow through quick responses to emergencies such as traffic accidents or vehicle breakdowns.
Transport workers will also strive together to actively practice courteous service and maintain cleanliness of vehicles and auxiliary facilities.
The city plans to designate the onsite inspection period as ‘Expo Traffic Week’ and conduct a campaign to inform the inspection team of Busan as an advanced traffic city by promoting no honking and no speeding, with the transport business associations agreeing to actively participate.
