Korea Papa John's Resumes Sales of 'Greenit Plant-Based Pizza'
Korea Papa John's announced on the 16th that it will resume sales of its plant-based pizza, which sold out early due to explosive consumer interest.
Korea Papa John's launched two types, 'Green It Plant-Based Margherita' and 'Green It Plant-Based Garden Special,' on the 6th of last month to commemorate its 20th anniversary in Korea. The plant-based pizzas feature vegan cheese from sheese, a company with 33 years of tradition certified by the UK Vegan Society, and use only plant-based ingredients, making them the first in Korea to contain no animal-derived ingredients.
The Green It plant-based pizzas became a hit, selling out all prepared cheese within about 10 days of launch. An analysis of customers who purchased the plant-based pizzas showed that about 20% were new customers through Papa John's online ordering channels (PC, mobile, app). Papa John's analyzed that this was due to purchases driven by curiosity from both vegan dietary customers and general customers interested in plant-based pizzas.
