Haenam-gun Implements Monthly Salary System for Farmers
Advance Monthly Payment of 200,000 to 2,500,000 KRW for Harvest Season Daegeum
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, will implement a farmer salary system that allows farmers to receive part of their harvest payments in advance like a monthly salary.
According to the county on the 15th, the farmer salary system is a project that supports rice farmers who have no income before the rice harvest season by using funds from the Nonghyup (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation) to provide advance payments, enabling them to maintain a stable livelihood.
Eight local Nonghyup branches in the area will participate, and the county will cover the interest on the advance payments.
Farmers who have signed a delivery contract with Nonghyup will receive part of the contracted purchase payment monthly from March to October, for up to eight months, in advance from Nonghyup.
Payments will be made in the form of a monthly salary by the local Nonghyup, ranging from a minimum of 200,000 KRW to a maximum limit of 2,500,000 KRW. Applications can be submitted by visiting the town or township office during the application period for each item and submitting the farmer salary system application form along with the Nonghyup delivery contract.
Last year, 153 farming households in Haenam-gun participated in the farmer salary system.
