Gwangju Seo-gu to Operate 'Gonggikja Safety University' Until November
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 14th that it will operate the "Public Officials Safety University" to strengthen safety awareness and disaster safety capabilities of all employees, starting with training for grade 6 and 7 public officials and continuing until November.

Seo-gu prepared this opportunity to reaffirm its role as the disaster management authority responsible for the safety management and response of residents in the event of a disaster.
Additionally, they invited Song Changyoung, a disaster safety expert and professor at Gwangju University, to conduct training on overcoming widespread safety negligence in society, from disaster prevention to occurrence, operation of the local disaster safety countermeasures headquarters, initial response procedures, situation dissemination systems, and related regulations.
A Seo-gu official stated, “Through this training, all employees will realize the importance of vigilance against disasters and the role of administration, and we will do our best with the determination to be safety managers to make Seo-gu the ‘Safety No.1 District.’”
Meanwhile, Seo-gu held the ‘Safety No.1 District Seo-gu Pledge Meeting’ for executives of grade 5 and above in January.
