Additional Confirmation of Hadong Wildfire Damage... 3 Houses Destroyed
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] The Korea Forest Service Central Wildfire Prevention Headquarters announced on the 12th that it has additionally confirmed that three houses were burned in a fire in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam Province.
Hadong-gun reported to the Korea Forest Service that during the damage investigation after extinguishing the wildfire, it confirmed that three houses (300㎡) of residents in Hwagae-myeon within the wildfire impact area (direct and indirect estimated damage area) were destroyed.
The wildfire in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong occurred around 1:19 PM the previous day in the area of San 203-2, Daeseong-ri, Hwagae-myeon, Hadong-gun, within Jirisan National Park. On the second day after the outbreak and about 22 hours after ignition, the main fire was extinguished around noon that day.

There were no casualties among residents due to this fire, but a wildfire prevention firefighter in his 60s belonging to Jinju City died of cardiac arrest. A total of 91 hectares of mountainous area, including the Jirisan National Park zone, were destroyed.
