Preventing Summer Flood Damage ... Busan Gijang-gun Supports Installation of Water Barriers
Busan Gijang-gun supports the installation of flood prevention facilities (water barriers) to prevent flood damage caused by heavy summer rains.
The flood prevention facilities are designed to prevent rainwater from entering buildings located in low-lying areas, underground parking lots, etc. They are custom-made for easy attachment and detachment, usually stored separately, and only create a water barrier during heavy rainfalls to block rainwater inflow.
Recently, flood damage caused by heavy summer rains has been increasing, and during Typhoon Hinnamnor last year, significant property damage occurred in houses and shops in the low-lying coastal areas of Gijang-eup. In response, Gijang-gun decided to support the installation of flood prevention facilities to protect the lives and property of its residents.
The support targets houses and small shops with a history or risk of flooding. Owners or tenants of buildings wishing to install the facilities can apply at the local eup/myeon administrative welfare centers from the 13th to the 17th of this month.
The county plans to finalize the selection of project recipients through a review in April and complete the delivery of installation subsidies in May.
