Ulju-gun, 2023 Q1 Nighttime License Plate Seizure Activities for Overdue Vehicles
Ulju-gun, Ulsan City will conduct nighttime vehicle license plate seizures for delinquent vehicles for the first quarter of 2023 over a two-week period starting from the 13th.
The seizure targets are vehicles within the Ulsan area that have two or more unpaid automobile taxes or have accumulated automobile-related fines of 300,000 KRW or more. Vehicles from outside the Ulsan area will be seized if they have three or more unpaid automobile taxes.
The enforcement team will focus on densely populated vehicle areas such as residential neighborhoods including one-room apartments, apartment complexes, commercial parking lots, and roadside areas. They will also simultaneously crack down on illegally registered vehicles (commonly known as "Daepocha"). If caught, the vehicles will be forcibly towed on-site and auctioned off.
For vehicles with seized license plates, owners of vehicles registered in Ulju-gun can retrieve their plates by visiting the local eup/myeon administrative welfare center, while owners of vehicles registered outside Ulju-gun must visit the Tax Division 2 at Ulju-gun Office to pay all outstanding taxes in full.
However, delinquent taxpayers who find it difficult to pay the full amount can also opt for installment payments.
