Incheon Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Construction Union Gyeongin Western Headquarters
The police have launched an investigation into the Korean Federation of Construction Trade Unions Gyeongin Western Headquarters regarding illegal activities at construction sites.
On the 9th at around 11:25 a.m., the Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Incheon Police Agency conducted a search and seizure at the office of the Korean Federation of Construction Trade Unions Gyeongin Western Headquarters in Hajung-dong, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi Province.
The police obtained a search warrant on charges of joint extortion under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes and secured materials related to illegal activities that occurred at construction sites. They also visited the residences of construction union executives to seize communication devices and other items.
Earlier, on the 2nd of last month, the police conducted a search and seizure at the office of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Construction Union Gyeongin Headquarters.

Since December of last year, the Incheon Police Agency has conducted a special crackdown on various illegal activities at construction sites for three months, uncovering a total of 38 cases. A total of 214 people have been arrested on charges including joint extortion and threats, among whom 6 have been detained.
