Sleep specialist brand Sambunuiil (CEO Jeon Ju-hoon) announced on the 9th that it has recruited Baek In-geol, former Samsung Electronics executive, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to strengthen its digital capabilities. In addition, Park Chan-yong, CEO of sleep data technology company Vytels, which was acquired in January this year, has been appointed as Chief Research and Development Officer (CRO) to reinforce the technology organization. The newly established Sambunuiil Tech Headquarters is organized under a two-top system led by CTO Baek In-geol and CRO Park Chan-yong.
CTO Baek In-geol worked as a hardware and software engineer at Samsung Electronics DMC Research Institute, leading advanced healthcare development. He developed numerous devices and software for managing chronic disease patients, in addition to preliminary research on sleep measurement and evaluation. He is also a co-founder of the digital healthcare startup 'E2E Health,' founded in 2015 as a Samsung Electronics in-house venture C-Lab project. CTO Baek leads the hardware and software development of Sambunuiil's sleep tech product, the 'Smart Mattress.'

View original imageCRO Park Chan-yong has been developing sleep data measurement technology and related sensors for several years at Vytels. He previously served as a senior researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and as a research professor at Sungkyunkwan University. At Sambunuiil, he plans to actively participate in research on digital therapeutics based on cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia and in sleep medicine clinical practice.

Following the distribution of sleep products centered on memory foam mattresses, Sambunuiil plans to focus on solving the fundamental problems of sleep and business scalability by advancing the digitalization of the mattress business. Jeon Ju-hoon, CEO of Sambunuiil, said, "With the addition of two veterans to the tech organization, the company's digital innovation roadmap has become even stronger," adding, "This year will be the inaugural year of Sambunuiil 2.0, scaling up into the sleep tech business by expanding the Tech Headquarters."
