New Confirmed Cases 10,890... Increase of About 3,300 Compared to a Week Ago (Update)
Since the start of school attendance, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases has shown a slight increase, with just over 10,000 new cases reported on the 9th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, there were 10,890 new COVID-19 confirmed cases, bringing the total to 30,605,187.
The number of new cases decreased by 1,908 compared to the previous day (12,798). However, it increased by 3,335 compared to a week earlier on the 2nd (7,555), when testing numbers had dropped due to the Samiljeol holiday. The number of new COVID-19 cases has been rising for seven consecutive days compared to the previous week, influenced by factors such as school attendance.
Among the new confirmed cases, 7 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 4 to 143 compared to the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 100s for 18 consecutive days.
