View original imageThe Seoul Milk Cooperative announced on the 9th that the current chairman, Moon Jin-seop, has been re-elected as the 21st chairman of the cooperative.
The election for the chairman of Seoul Milk is held every four years in accordance with the nationwide simultaneous cooperative chairman election schedule. Only those qualified as cooperative members can run for election, and only cooperative members are eligible to vote. In this election, out of a total of 1,468 eligible voters, 1,428 cooperative members cast their votes directly, and the counting results showed that Chairman Moon secured 908 votes (a 63.7% vote share), successfully winning re-election.
Chairman Moon was first elected as the 20th chairman of the Seoul Milk Cooperative in 2019 and has now succeeded in his re-election. He was recognized for his developmental contributions, including prioritizing key tasks to ensure that domestically produced raw milk could secure a competitive advantage in the market amid the FTA era's removal of milk tariffs and the entry of imported milk into the domestic market.

Chairman Moon plans to focus on expanding market share by creating new added value for milk through the launch of innovative products and leading the domestic dairy industry by pioneering blue ocean markets. Additionally, he announced major pledges for a sustainable cooperative, such as attracting future customers by utilizing the new factory tour facilities in Yangju. Chairman Moon will begin his term as the 21st chairman starting from the 21st of this month.
