President Yoon Suk-yeol will make a state visit to the United States at the end of April upon the invitation of U.S. President Joe Biden.
President Yoon's state visit to the U.S. is taking place in a historic year marking the 70th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. alliance, Kim Eun-hye, the presidential office's chief spokesperson, conveyed in a written briefing on the night of the 7th.
President Yoon will be the first Korean head of state to visit the U.S. in 12 years since 2011, and the second state guest to visit since the Biden administration took office.

President Yoon and President Biden are expected to hold a summit meeting and various other schedules, including a state dinner scheduled for April 26, to celebrate the achievements of the Korea-U.S. alliance accumulated over the past 70 years and to have in-depth discussions on the future development of the alliance.
