Jangseong-gun, Integrated RPC, and CJ Breeding Join Hands for Food Industry Development

Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, joined hands with Jangseong-gun Nonghyup Integrated RPC and CJ Breeding on the 3rd to promote the development of the food industry.

According to the county on the 7th, this business agreement was pursued to ensure the smooth supply and mutual development of food crops in Jangseong.

The county will provide administrative support for overall agricultural policies, including complex development. Jangseong-gun Nonghyup Integrated RPC, responsible for mountain area distribution, will handle farmer organization and scaling up.

CJ Breeding will strive to discover win-win cooperation projects for the development of county agriculture.

The relationship between CJ Breeding and the county began in 2019 when the county introduced CJ Hetban raw material rice varieties through a pilot project to foster a specialized production complex for processing raw materials.

Currently, 89 farms participate in cultivation over 250 hectares, producing 1,400 tons of raw material rice annually.

Starting with this agreement, the county plans to form a working-level consultative team and introduce new strategic varieties selected by CJ Breeding to Jangseong first, with plans to gradually expand the contract cultivation area.

County Governor Kim Han-jong said, “This business agreement will be a new opportunity to overcome the current agricultural crisis caused by climate change and rice price fluctuations,” adding, “We will promote stable agricultural income creation through close cooperative relationships.”
