'Meeting with Indian Ambassador' Kim Dong-yeon: "The Land of Possibilities India Meets the Opportunity Capital Gyeonggi-do"
Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province posted the following text and photo on his SNS on the 7th.
View original imageGyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon gave special significance to the visit of Amit Kumar, the Indian Ambassador to Korea, to Gyeonggi Province, saying, "The land of possibilities, India, and the 'City of Opportunities,' Gyeonggi, have met."
On the 7th, Governor Kim posted on his social network service (SNS), "The world is coming to Gyeonggi Province," and added, "On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Korea-India diplomatic relations, I joined hands with Amit Kumar, the Indian Ambassador to Korea."
He continued, "India has achieved rapid growth and is this year’s G20 chair country, as well as a key partner in our government's Indo-Pacific strategy," and reflected, "As a former Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, I led economic cooperation between the two countries through Korea-India finance minister meetings and achieved the signing of the Basic Agreement on the Economic Development Cooperation Fund."
Furthermore, he expressed expectations for India, saying, "India is predicted to become the country with the largest population in the world this year (surpassing China) and the world's third-largest economy by 2030," adding, "It holds great potential and many opportunities."
In particular, he added, "India leads in advanced science and technology fields, producing the second-largest number of information technology (IT) engineers in the world, and Gyeonggi Province is the undisputed center of Korea’s Fourth Industrial Revolution."

Governor Kim concluded by saying, "Ambassador Kumar was invited to the site of the India International Exhibition and Convention Center (IICC), which will be operated by KINTEX," and conveyed, "We also showed deep mutual interest in opportunities for youth exchanges and visits between the two countries through policies such as the 'Youth Startup Bridge'."
