[Breaking] Government: "Japan-Korea Export Controls to Revert to Before July 2019... WTO Complaint Suspended"
The government has decided to hold bilateral consultations to restore the export control situation between South Korea and Japan to the state before July 2019.
On the 6th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a briefing titled 'Announcement on the Current Issues of Korea-Japan Export Controls' and stated, "We have agreed to proceed with bilateral consultations promptly."

The ministry said, "The Korean government has decided to suspend the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute resolution procedures while the related consultations are underway," and added, "The Japanese government has agreed to hold a Korea-Japan export control policy dialogue soon for this purpose."
