Gori Unit 4 Enters Planned Preventive Maintenance... Achieves 1,418 Days Without Failure
Gori Nuclear Power Plant Unit 4 has ceased power generation and entered planned preventive maintenance.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Gori Nuclear Headquarters (Head: Lee Kwang-hoon) announced that Gori Unit 4 (Pressurized Water Reactor type, 950 MW class) stopped power generation at 10 a.m. on the 5th to carry out major equipment maintenance and fuel replacement, commencing the 27th planned preventive maintenance.
This planned preventive maintenance is scheduled to continue until May 7. It will include statutory inspections under the Nuclear Safety Act and the Electric Utility Act, fuel removal and reloading, inspection of overall power generation equipment, maintenance, and equipment improvements to enhance the reliability and safety of the nuclear power plant.
With the start of this planned preventive maintenance, Gori Unit 4 has achieved a continuous 'One Cycle Trouble Free (OCTF)' safety operation for 3 cycles (1,418 days).

One cycle is approximately 18 months, and 'OCTF (One Cycle Trouble Free)' is a representative indicator that proves the stability and technical capability of nuclear power plant operation. It means the plant operated without shutdown from the completion of planned preventive maintenance until system separation for the next maintenance.
