Gyeonggi-do Conducts On-Site Inspections of Accounting Practices at Two Redevelopment and Reconstruction Associations
Gyeonggi Province has selected two redevelopment and reconstruction associations this year to inspect the contract process, accounting, and overall association management. Additionally, on-site consultations will be conducted for 10 redevelopment and reconstruction associations experiencing project delays to facilitate prompt project progress.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 5th that it has prepared a support plan for redevelopment and reconstruction associations containing these measures and began implementation this month.
The province will first select two redevelopment and reconstruction associations either requested for inspection by city or county governments or directly applied for by residents, and conduct on-site inspections by May.
The inspection will cover ▲ information disclosure (related to association general meetings) ▲ contracts including service agreements ▲ compliance with major legal procedures ▲ fund management and budget execution.
Last year, the province inspected four redevelopment and reconstruction associations, including those in Uijeongbu, and found a total of 90 issues.
The main violations detected included illegal activities during the contract process, destruction of key documents by dismissed executives, and unreasonable management of business promotion expenses.
Starting this year, the province will also provide customized on-site consultations targeting areas where ▲ residents are drafting maintenance plans ▲ there are many disputes or complaints ▲ projects are delayed.
According to the province, there are currently 24 redevelopment and reconstruction associations that have not progressed to the next stage. This year, the province plans to select 10 of these for on-site consultations. Two have already been selected, and the remaining eight will be chosen soon.
