Mayor Park said during the meeting, “Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the 6.25 War. Before it gets too late, we will actively cooperate in various ways so that Mapo’s hidden heroes can be recognized for their merits and receive national benefits.” He added, “We hope the military will also join forces with the district to establish a safe Mapo and provide much support in the future.”
The 56th Infantry Division expressed gratitude by presenting a plaque of appreciation to Mayor Park Gang-su for the district’s full cooperation and support last year, which helped the division be selected as an excellent unit and receive the Presidential Unit Citation.
