Internet Broadcast 'BadaTV' Live Streaming, Elevating the Spirit of Busan's New Leap
Busan City will hold the ‘104th Anniversary of the March 1st Movement Commemoration Ceremony’ at 10 a.m. on March 1st in the main auditorium of City Hall to mark the March 1st Movement Day.
About 700 people, including Deputy Mayor Ahn Byung-yoon, City Council Chairman Ahn Seong-min, Superintendent of Education Ha Yun-su, and members of the Liberation Association, are expected to attend the event.
The city plans to broadcast the ceremony live on the internet channel ‘Bada TV’ so that all citizens can reflect on the significance of the March 1st Movement Day.
This year’s March 1st Movement Commemoration Ceremony will be held under the theme ‘Spirit of the Nation, A New Leap Forward’ and will proceed in the following order: ▲National Ceremony ▲Screening of a commemorative video ▲Reading of the Declaration of Independence by students from Dongnae Girls’ High School and Bae Jong-ryeol, head of the Busan branch of the Liberation Association ▲Congratulatory speeches ▲Celebratory performances ▲Singing of the March 1st Movement song and three cheers for independence.
With thorough and meaningful preparations, the city aims to honor the sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and convey a message to citizens to inherit the noble spirit of independence from the ancestors, use key issues such as hosting the 2030 World Expo in Busan as new growth engines, and further develop Busan.
Before the ceremony, at 9 a.m., Deputy Mayor Ahn Byung-yoon and others will visit the Liberation Memorial Hall’s spirit tablet sanctuary to pay respects to the patriotic martyrs.

Mayor Park Hyung-joon will be unable to attend the ceremony due to a business trip to Africa for the 2030 World Expo Busan bid, but he expressed, “I pay my respect and gratitude to the patriotic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence of our country. Inheriting the spirit of the ancestors, I will do my best to ensure that our descendants are not ashamed and that Busan can make a new leap forward and innovate.”
