Suwon City Provides Additional Heating Cost Support for Private, Home, and Cooperative Daycare Centers
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will provide additional heating cost support to private and home daycare centers struggling with soaring heating expenses.
The support targets 700 private, home, and cooperative daycare centers located in Suwon. Heating cost assistance can be applied for through the integrated childcare system. Depending on the size, private daycare centers will receive up to 300,000 KRW, while home and cooperative daycare centers will receive up to 200,000 KRW.
Suwon has been providing heating cost support to daycare centers twice a year since 2005. This additional support was decided to alleviate the difficulties faced by daycare centers due to rising heating costs.

A city official stated, "The cold wave and the sharp rise in energy prices have increased the fuel cost burden on daycare centers," adding, "To create a safe childcare environment, we decided to provide additional heating cost support to vulnerable facilities such as daycare centers."
