Peugeot Unveils Facelifted Model of the 'New 508'
Peugeot unveiled the facelifted model of the ‘New Peugeot 508’ on the 24th, ahead of its global launch scheduled for June.
The ‘508’ has served as Peugeot’s flagship sedan in a 5-door fastback style. It is a model equipped with sleek design, luxurious interior, dynamic performance, and a wealth of advanced safety and convenience features. After the full model change in 2019, the facelifted version is being released in three lineups: Sedan, SW (Station Wagon), and Sports Engineered. The Sports Engineered trim incorporates the technology of ‘Peugeot Sport,’ Peugeot’s high-performance division.
Peugeot designed the New 508 with the goal of completing a sedan boasting a premium silhouette. The front design creates a modern impression with the new lion head emblem of the Peugeot brand positioned at the center of the grille and a front grille perfectly integrated with the bumper. The LED matrix headlamps, newly designed in the shape of three lion claws, and the sequentially lighting rear LED lamps reveal Peugeot’s strong brand identity and exude a confident charm.
The high-quality materials and modern design applied to the interior, along with the ergonomically designed driver’s seat gearbox considering driver convenience, intensively express Peugeot’s determination to target the upmarket.
The driver’s seat features Peugeot’s unique ‘i-Cockpit,’ which gives the feeling of sitting in an aircraft cockpit. The compact steering wheel enables agile and precise driving, and the instrument panel is equipped with a 12-inch digital display.
The New 508 offers even more enhanced advanced safety and convenience features. Peugeot’s new advanced infotainment system, Peugeot i-Connect Advanced, includes a 10-inch HD central screen, natural language voice recognition, wireless connectivity, connected navigation, and OTA updates. It provides safe driving through adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane departure warning system, night vision, HD rear camera, and three suspension modes (Normal, Comfort, Sport).
The powertrains of the New 508 and New 508 SW consist of two plug-in hybrids with outputs of 180 hp and 225 hp, and 130 hp gasoline and diesel engines. All are paired with an 8-speed EAT transmission. The Sports Engineered offers a powertrain with a 360 hp plug-in hybrid and an all-wheel-drive system.
