Hanwha Aerospace CEO Son Jae-il Elected as President of the Space Technology Promotion Association
Final Selection at Association General Meeting After Board Vote
Serving as Association President for 3 Years Until 2026
Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 24th that Son Jae-il, CEO, was elected as the new chairman of the Korea Aerospace Promotion Association (KASP) at the general meeting. His term is three years, and he is expected to serve as chairman until 2026.
After graduating from Korea University with a degree in Business Administration, CEO Son joined Hanwha and has served as CEO of Hanwha Ground Defense, HR Director of Hanwha Support Division, and CEO of Hanwha Defense. Since September last year, he has been serving as CEO of Hanwha Aerospace.
The Korea Aerospace Promotion Association, established in May 2014, is responsible for space-related policy research, export and international support, and technology development support. A total of 79 member companies participate, including Hanwha Aerospace, Korea Aerospace Research Institute, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Hyundai Rotem, and LIG Nex1.

CEO Son said, "It is an honor to serve as chairman of the association, which acts as a bridge between the industry and government at a time when the importance of the space industry is growing," adding, "I will do my best to help Korean companies secure global competitiveness through strengthening public-private cooperation and policy proposals, building and revitalizing the space industry ecosystem, expanding technology exchanges among industry, academia, and research institutes, and fostering talent."
