Deputy Prime Minister Lee Ju-ho Reports 4.4 Billion KRW Including Gangnam Apgujeong Apartment
In November Last Year, Public Officials' Asset Disclosure... Yu Jae-hoon, President of Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, Tops with 5.2 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, reported assets worth approximately 4.4 billion KRW. He ranks third among current officials in the February mid-term public disclosure of public officials' assets. This disclosure covered 35 individuals with status changes from November 2 to December 1 of last year.
According to the high-ranking public officials' asset registration details released by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on the 24th, the combined assets of Deputy Prime Minister Lee, his spouse, and mother were assessed at 4,405.4 million KRW. He owns an apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (2.448 billion KRW), and his mother owns a mansion in Daemyeong-dong, Nam-gu, Daegu (183 million KRW).
Included were a 2013 model Grandeur car owned by Lee (8.96 million KRW) and forest land in Jukbaek-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, registered under his spouse (391.5 million KRW). Deposits totaled 1.39424 billion KRW, with 423.15 million KRW in Lee’s name, 939.29 million KRW under his spouse, and 31.79 million KRW under his mother’s name.
Yu Jae-hoon, President of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, reported the highest assets among the filers at 5.153 billion KRW. Yu owns an apartment in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul (1.874 billion KRW), an apartment in Paris, France (858.32 million KRW), and a leasehold right on an apartment in Hongpa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul (710 million KRW).
Cho Dong-chul, President of the Korea Development Institute (KDI), registered assets totaling 5.01857 billion KRW, including an apartment in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu jointly owned with his spouse (2.67 billion KRW), family deposits (1.81 billion KRW), and stocks owned by himself (100 million KRW). Cho’s spouse also owns a diamond ring valued at approximately 20 million KRW.

Additionally, Lee Han-jun, President of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), reported assets worth 4.04 billion KRW, and Jeong Yong-gi, President of Korea District Heating Corporation and former member of the National Assembly, declared assets totaling 3.31 billion KRW. Kim Tae-gi, Chairman of the Central Labor Relations Commission, also disclosed assets this time, including an apartment in Oksu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul (1.27 billion KRW), deposits of 340 million KRW, and securities worth 340 million KRW, totaling 2.65 billion KRW in assets.
