Samsung Electronics to Switch to Voluntary Mask Policy In-House Starting Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Samsung Electronics will effectively lift its in-house COVID-19 prevention guidelines starting from the 1st of next month.
According to industry sources on the 23rd, Samsung Electronics recently announced that from March 1st, indoor mask-wearing within the company will change from recommended to voluntary. Previously, starting from the 30th of last month, Samsung Electronics relaxed its guidelines to recommend mask-wearing only at personal workstations in accordance with the government's revised COVID-19 prevention standards. From next month, it will leave this entirely to individual discretion.
Previously, large-scale events, meetings, training sessions, and informal gatherings were discouraged, but going forward, there will be no restrictions. Vaccination during domestic and international business trips will also change from mandatory to voluntary.
However, masks will still be mandatory at large indoor events, training sessions, meetings, as well as in hospitals, pharmacies, and on buses.
