Jeonnam Province Launches Full-Scale Effort to Prevent Safety Accidents at Local Festivals
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province is making every effort to strengthen safety management at local festival sites.
On the 23rd, the province announced that it will enhance safety inspections to prevent accidents at local festival sites, anticipating large crowds due to major events such as the National Sports Festival and the Year of Visiting Jeonnam.
Starting with the opening of the 51st Gangjin Celadon Festival held in the Gangjin Celadon Village area on the same day, thorough inspections will be conducted across various local festival sites where large crowds gather.
The detailed inspection items include ▲ appropriateness of the maximum simultaneous capacity of festival visitors and countermeasures and response plans if capacity limits are exceeded ▲ festival planning and safety management organization composition and operation ▲ safety management measures such as rescue and first aid at the festival site ▲ securing emergency evacuation routes and traffic measures to maintain order ▲ and action plans in case of safety accidents.
In particular, one to two days before the festival, a joint on-site inspection involving private experts and related organizations will be conducted to guide and check whether the safety management plan is properly implemented. Facilities inside and outside the festival site, fire, electrical, and gas equipment management, and insurance subscription status will also be intensively inspected.
If the inspection results indicate the need for simple facility reinforcement or reveal insufficient safety measures, immediate corrective actions will be taken on-site, and any illegal or unsafe factors will be repaired or reinforced before the festival to create a safe festival atmosphere.
Additionally, Jeonnam Province will conduct monthly joint pre-inspections of safety at large-scale and high-risk local festival sites with private experts and related organizations.
Furthermore, through safety management strengthening guidelines for local festivals in each city and county, events without organizers or sponsors that gather large crowds will be surveyed monthly for proactive management, and a joint inspection team involving private experts will be operated for focused management.
