Yeosu City Selected as an Excellent Institution in Local Government Innovation Evaluation

The Only Selection in Jeonnam Province... Recognized for Innovation Efforts and Achievements

[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it was selected as an excellent institution at the city level in the '2022 Local Government Innovation Evaluation.'

With this selection, the city will be the only city-level entity in the province to receive a special treasury subsidy financial incentive.

The 'Local Government Innovation Evaluation' was conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, targeting 243 local governments nationwide (17 metropolitan, 75 cities, 82 counties, 69 autonomous districts), evaluating ▲institutional autonomous innovation ▲innovation performance ▲innovation diffusion and public perception.

In this evaluation, Yeosu City ranked 14th among cities, rising three steps from 17th last year, recognizing its efforts and achievements in innovation.

Previously, the city promoted projects such as ▲Yeosu Sharing Happiness Resource Circulation Store operation ▲establishing an eco-friendly lifestyle culture to achieve 2050 carbon neutrality ▲holding non-face-to-face smart video meetings (using ZOOM) ▲multilingual QR code guidance service for public parking lots ▲reuse of existing pavement blocks.
