The resale price of the laptop computer 'LG Gram NewJeans Edition,' a collaboration between LG Electronics and the girl group NewJeans, plummeted just two weeks after its release. Originally priced at 2.49 million KRW, this product was once sold on secondhand trading platforms for 5 to 5.2 million KRW, but now the price has dropped to 2.4 to 2.5 million KRW, returning to its original price.
Last month, LG Electronics appointed NewJeans as the brand ambassador for LG Gram and unveiled the 'LG Gram NewJeans Edition' on the 1st of this month. The NewJeans Edition features the group's symbolic rabbit 'Bunny' design on the laptop cover, touchpad, mouse, and pouch. It attracted great interest from fans even before its release. It was sold through LG Electronics' online brand shop live broadcast, 'Ella Show.' All 200 units prepared were sold out within six minutes of the sale starting. It was reported that thousands of people were waiting to access the purchase page simultaneously at that time.

The laptop began appearing as resale listings on online secondhand trading platforms such as Junggonara and Bungaejangter from the day it sold out. The market price was formed at an average of 3.5 to 4.5 million KRW, with premiums of about 1 to 2 million KRW, and some sellers posted listings aiming to sell at 5 to 5.2 million KRW, more than twice the original price. However, now, two weeks after the release, the selling price of the remaining listings is around 3 million KRW at most. Some sellers have listed items below their purchase price at 2.4 million KRW, and there are sellers who completed resale including goods for just 10,000 KRW above the retail price at 2.5 million KRW.
On the 18th, a listing for a 'NewJeans laptop' was posted on 'Junggonara'.

The reason for the sharp drop in resale prices appears to be LG Electronics' announcement of additional sales of NewJeans Edition goods. LG Electronics is currently running an event on the LG Gram community 'Jammy,' where some of the goods included in the NewJeans Edition are being given away. Until the 20th of this month, customers can purchase or enter a draw with points on the Jammy website to receive goods such as a mouse, mouse pad, cable (cord organizer) clip, and deco stickers. Additionally, on March 6, NewJeans Edition exclusive goods for Jammy are scheduled to be released. The goods include a desk mat and laptop bag featuring the Bunny illustration, with the quantity to be announced on the release day. With the appearance of various NewJeans goods, it seems unlikely that the resale price of the NewJeans Edition laptop will rise again.
