Yongin City, Full Effort to Secure National Road Fund for Public Project Competition
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is significantly strengthening its efforts to secure national and provincial funding through public contest projects.
On the 17th, Yongin City announced that it recently held a response meeting to revitalize the promotion of public contest projects, chaired by First Deputy Mayor Ryu Gwang-yeol, where they analyzed the status of public contest projects over the past three years and held an open discussion to establish a management system to activate these projects.
Based on the content from this meeting, the city established a "Plan to Promote Activation of Participation in Public Contest Projects."
The core of the plan is to prepare a management system for strategic responses from project discovery to post-management stages.
Details include ▲ frequent monitoring of trends to discover public contest projects ▲ establishment of a public contest project status bulletin board within the Saeol Administrative System for information sharing ▲ operation of a preliminary review system to select competitive public contest projects ▲ provision of customized consulting by the Yongin City Policy Research Institute.
The city expects this plan to provide a broad framework for public contest projects, enabling proactive and strategic responses.
A city official stated, "Public contest projects promoted by central government ministries and Gyeonggi Province can achieve two goals: solving city administrative issues and reducing the city's financial burden," adding, "We will do our best to secure as much national and provincial funding as possible to improve citizens' convenience while reducing the city's financial burden."
