Gathering Opinions at the Residents' Briefing Session for the Establishment of the 'Nui Center' in Hamyang-gun
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 13th at 2 p.m., Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a residents' briefing session at the county office's large conference room to discuss the construction of the Hamyang Nui Center and gathered opinions from residents of various social groups.
The briefing session was attended by about 80 people, including County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong, township residents' autonomy committees, art organizations, youth groups, and residents. The session proceeded with a report on the Nui Center construction plan, listening to residents' opinions, and discussions.
Hamyang-gun is promoting the construction of the Nui Center as a project funded by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Local Extinction Response Fund last year, aiming to improve living conditions by expanding insufficient living and cultural infrastructure in response to the risk of regional extinction caused by rapid population decline.

This briefing session was organized to directly listen to and communicate with residents from diverse social groups.
Governor Jin said, "The Nui Center will be a space that any resident can conveniently use and will serve as a catalyst for communication within the local community," adding, "We will carefully collect the opinions shared today and establish an overall usage plan for the county office site."
During the briefing session, various opinions were presented, including securing spaces for cultural artists, creating childcare spaces where children and parents can be together, generating linked job opportunities, and devising efficient operational plans for the Nui Center construction.
The county previously held discussion meetings to gather opinions from various groups such as youth, parents, education and job-related personnel, and has been sharing diverse opinions for the Nui Center construction through online surveys on the official website and written surveys to encourage resident participation.

Based on the opinions presented at the residents' briefing session and the results of the resident survey conducted until the 16th, Hamyang Nui Center plans to establish the basic plan by March, proceed with design competitions and detailed designs by the end of this year, and begin construction in January next year.
