Yeosu City Announces Contest for Unreasonable 'Regulation Improvement Ideas'
Citizen Life Safety Sector, Regional Innovation Growth Regulations, etc.
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it will conduct the '2023 Regulatory Improvement Citizen Idea Contest' to operate communication administration through regulatory reform felt by citizens and citizen participation.
The contest will be open from the 10th to March 31st, and any Yeosu citizen can submit ideas regarding unreasonable regulations hidden in daily life and regulations that hinder corporate activities.
The contest will be promoted in two fields: citizen life and safety, and regional innovation growth.
First, in the citizen life and safety field, ideas are solicited on ▲ regulations that cause inconvenience and burden in citizen welfare and daily life ▲ regulations that hinder employment and job creation ▲ measures to strengthen citizen safety and support for self-employed business owners.
Also, in the regional innovation growth field, ideas are solicited on ▲ community-based living SOC projects such as urban regeneration, hydrogen energy, and old industrial complex regeneration ▲ proposals for improving regulations that hinder corporate development.
Submitted ideas will be reviewed first by the relevant department, then deliberated by the Yeosu City Regulatory Reform Committee to select excellent proposals. One grand prize winner will receive 500,000 KRW, one excellence prize winner 300,000 KRW, and three encouragement prize winners will each receive Yeosu City gift certificates worth 100,000 KRW.
An official from the city said, “We plan to continuously propose the selected excellent ideas to central government ministries,” and added, “We hope many people with creative ideas will participate.”
