Korean Emergency Relief Team Rescues First Survivor from Turkey Earthquake Damage
One Male in His Mid-70s Rescued
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The South Korean emergency relief team began rescue operations at 5 a.m. (local time) on the 9th in the earthquake-affected area of T?rkiye and rescued one survivor.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the emergency relief team, which started rescue operations at Antakya High School in Hatay Province and other locations, rescued a man in his mid-70s.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the survivor was conscious and confirmed to have no major health issues. Four additional deceased individuals were found next to the survivor.

This emergency relief team, the largest ever dispatched by the government, consists of a total of 118 members: 1 from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 49 from the Ministry of National Defense, 62 from the Fire Agency, and 6 from KOICA. They were organized mainly as a search and rescue team at the request of the Turkish side.
