It has been lengthened from the previous 510 yards to 545 yards. A full 35 yards have been added. It will no longer be easy to reach the green in two shots when using a mid-iron.
The 13th hole is considered the easiest hole at Augusta National Golf Club. As long as the tee shot lands on the fairway, players could easily get the ball on the green in two shots. The average score at the 13th hole during last year's Masters was 4.77 strokes.
However, the difficulty of the 13th hole will not increase significantly. A 545-yard par 5 hole can still be tackled without much trouble by players with top-level skills.
