"Man in his 50s Arrested for Wielding Weapon Over Complaints at Nursing Hospital"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] A man who attempted to kill fellow patients and a caregiver in the same hospital room with a bladed weapon was apprehended by the police.
On the 1st, the Guro Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested a man in his 50s, Mr. A, on charges of attempted murder at around 4:40 a.m. the previous day at a nursing hospital in Guro-gu, Seoul.
The police suspect Mr. A of wielding a bladed weapon and attacking a caregiver and patients admitted in the same hospital room.
The police responded to a report of injured victims and arrested Mr. A at the scene.
The victims were immediately transported to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition without life-threatening injuries.
Mr. A, who was hospitalized for alcohol addiction, stated during the police investigation that he committed the crime due to accumulated dissatisfaction with the hospital.

Due to Mr. A’s poor health condition, the police did not apply for an arrest warrant but urgently hospitalized him. Further investigation will proceed once the victims recover, and Mr. A will be sent to prosecution without detention.
