LPGA Tour "March Blue Bay Cancelled"... Impact of COVID-19
The LPGA Tour event scheduled to be held in Hainan, China in March has been canceled.
On the 1st (local time), the LPGA Tour announced, "The Blue Bay LPGA (total prize money of $2.1 million), which was scheduled to take place over four days starting March 9 in Hainan Province, China, has been canceled." They added, "This decision was made following the advice of the China Golf Association, considering local travel restrictions due to COVID-19."

The LPGA Tour expressed gratitude for the efforts of Hainan Greentown Blue Bay, the China Golf Association, the China Ladies Professional Golf Association, and IMG, stating, "We look forward to returning to Hainan in 2024." The tournament was held until 2018 but has not been held since 2019. In Korea, Kim Sei-young won in 2015, and the last champion in 2018 was Gaby Lopez (Mexico).
