Eurozone GDP Grows 0.1% QoQ in Q4 Last Year... Performs Better Than Expected
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sunhee] The preliminary estimate of the Eurozone (20 countries using the euro) Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the fourth quarter of last year was announced as 0.1% compared to the previous quarter. It increased by 1.9% compared to the same period last year.
On the 31st (local time), Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), released the preliminary GDP estimate for the Eurozone for the fourth quarter. This defied market expectations of a recession with Eurozone GDP contracting (-0.1% compared to the previous quarter).
